ARTIST PRINTS

WHY AN ARTIST PRINT?
In my opinion, making the print is as much a part of the creative process as capturing the original image in the camera. Even in this digital age,
Ansel Adams' metaphor, that "the negative is the score and the print the performance," still holds true.

By creating each print in my own studio, rather than
a commercial laboratory, I can guarantee that the color, contrast and tone are exactly as I intended. I also have the freedom to use the finest museum quality art papers to give the finished product an extraordinary quality appearance and feel.

All my prints are created using archival quality pigment inks and 100% cotton rag acid free artist papers
. All mat materials used are also 100% acid free and museum archival quality.

Today's archival quality pigment inks provide not only exceptional color and contrast, but better lightfastness and longevity than any traditional photo process, and with reasonable care, will retain the same brilliant color and appeal for many years to come.

EDITIONS AND SIGNING
Every Artist Print is individually made by me in my studio, signed and
shipped with a certificate of authenticity which provides information about the print: such as its title, size, printing process, dates, sequence number of the edition, and so on, as well as a descriptive text about the image.

Open Edition Prints
All my artist print series are "Open Edition"
- meaning that there is no artificially imposed limit on the eventual number of copies. Every print is made with the same high quality and personal attention to detail and are numbered sequentially as they are produced. The eventual size of the edition is usually far less than a typical Limited Edition, and since I keep a record of all prints created, you can always inquire as to the current size of any edition.

Why Not Limited Edition Prints?
The concept of limited edition prints in photography is a controversial one. The nature of the medium - particularly in the age of digital - means that any limit is arbitrary and impossible to police. In any case, unless the photographer is famous and in high demand, the limit will usually never be reached.

The only certain way to limit an edition is to destroy the original negative (or file) after the prints are made. There's a good chance most of those prints will never be sold and prints of other sizes (which may be perfect for you) can never be offered.

For these reasons I do not offer Limited Edition prints.

PAYMENT AND SHIPPING
Once you have selected the image and size of print you want, the purchase process is easy. Payments are processed using PayPal's secure, convenient, and certified service. All major credit cards, including PayPal payments, are accepted. You do not need to be a PayPal Member to use this free service.

Once receipt of payment is confirmed I will contact you by email to confirm details before starting production of your print.

Shipping
For shipping, the finished print is placed in a ph-neutral, resealable poly bag, then packed flat (not rolled in a tube)  between rigid boards for protection from flexing or puncture. All packages are both insured and traceable via UPS 3-day select. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery as each print is made on a per-order basis.

Shipping will be automatically adjusted when multiple items will be packed together to reduce shipping costs. Local pickup is also possible.

Ordering from Outside the US
IMPORTANT NOTE: Shipping outside the US may require additional packaging, cost more and may incur duties, taxes or other non-routine customs brokerage charges, which would be collected from you upon receipt. Please check with me before placing an order.

30 Day Money Back Guarantee
I want you to be happy with your purchase and I understand that looking at a small image on a computer monitor is not the same thing as looking at the actual-size artwork. Color can vary from monitor to monitor, and colors displayed on a computer screen are at best a close approximations of what they look like in life.

If, when you receive it, you are unhappy with the print, I will gladly refund the full purchase price (minus any shipping charges and transaction fees) into your PayPal account - as long as the item is returned to me in saleable condition (i.e. the same condition it was in when I sent it to you) within 30 days of delivery to you, as verified by the UPS tracking number.

Lifetime Fade-Free Warranty
Every print is created using fade-free fine art archival papers and inks. All artwork comes with a Fade-Free Warranty designed to protect your investment: if your artwork were to fade I will replace it at no charge for as long as you own it. No questions asked, just return the artwork to me and I will ship you a replacement right away
.
