ARTIST STATEMENT
“Hey! What are you photographing?” “Nothing”
“Sure looks like it!”
Yes, this is what nothing looks like. It’s not hard to find.
It’s all around you basically - you just need to know where to look. When I have my “eye in” I can find it pretty easily. Sometimes it hides in a shadow. Sometimes it’s lurking right under your feet, or lounging on a wall you pass 100 times a day.
Not abstract, because that would be just some undefined blur of color and shape. No, these are pictures of something real - that real “thing” that's around us all the time, unregarded and unnoticed.
“Nothing”.
