ARTIST STATEMENT

As someone brought up in a family of artists and exposed to modern abstract painting from an early age, I find I am reminded of those images everywhere I look. One thing which links back to those beginnings is my obsession with the details of color, texture and shape that can be seen on "blank" walls and other surfaces around our urban landscape.

This body of work explores the connection between this "found urban art" and the images created by celebrated modern artists of our time such as Mondrian, Klee, Rothko, Pollock and Kline.

Just look around you - it's everywhere.
