ARTIST STATEMENT
As anyone who has been displaced, or has moved from the place they were brought up, can tell you, a person's formative years give them a perspective on their new home which makes their experience very different from those who grow up there.
As an import from England to California, my eye is constantly drawn upwards - to the brilliant azure blue where the western sky meets the angles and curves of the modern architecture of the New West.
This body of work describes my continued wonder at the miraculous light of the place I now live and which has become the touchstone that tells me I'm home.
